Only Oak Furniture Discount Codes — Solid Oak for Every Room

Only Oak Furniture, trading as Slek Furnishings Ltd, sells handcrafted solid oak furniture for every room in the house plus garden dining sets from two to ten seats. It offers free UK delivery, 0% finance and a guarantee on its ranges. The word doing the work here is solid, and it is worth understanding what that buys.

What They Sell

• Dining furniture — tables, chairs and sideboards.
• Living room — TV units, coffee tables and storage.
• Bedroom — wardrobes, chests and bedside tables.
• Hallway and office pieces.
• Garden dining sets from 2 to 10 seats.

Solid Oak Versus Oak Veneer

Most furniture sold as "oak" is a manufactured board — MDF or chipboard — with a thin oak veneer or an oak-effect print. It looks similar when new and behaves completely differently over time.

Solid oak is timber throughout. It can be sanded and refinished when marked, it takes repair rather than requiring replacement, and it survives being moved repeatedly. Veneered board chips at the edges, cannot be sanded back because the veneer is paper-thin, and swells irreversibly if water gets into the core. That is the difference the price reflects, and it is why solid oak is one of the few furniture purchases that can genuinely outlast you.

Wood Moves — and That Is Normal

Solid timber responds to humidity: it expands slightly in damp conditions and contracts in dry ones. New owners sometimes read this as a fault when it is simply how wood behaves.

Two practical consequences. Do not place solid oak directly against a radiator or in strong direct sunlight — sustained dry heat causes shrinkage and can open joints or split a tabletop. And expect slight colour change: oak darkens and mellows with light exposure over the first year or two, so a piece bought later to match will not be identical until it has aged. If you want a matching set, buy it together.

Delivery, Assembly and 0% Finance

Solid oak is heavy — considerably heavier than the flat-pack equivalent — which affects delivery and placement. Check whether items arrive assembled or part-assembled, and measure the route into the room rather than the room itself: a solid oak wardrobe that cannot turn a stairwell is a genuine problem, not a hypothetical one.

0% finance spreads the cost, which is reasonable on furniture intended to last decades — but only where it is genuinely interest-free. Check the term and what happens at the end of it before signing, as with any credit agreement.

How to Save at Only Oak Furniture

• Apply a current Only Oak Furniture code from the offers above at checkout.
• Free UK delivery applies, so there is no threshold to pad.
• Buy a matching set together — oak darkens with age and later pieces will not match.
• Use 0% finance where it is genuinely interest-free rather than a higher-rate card.
• Buy garden sets at the end of summer, when outdoor furniture clears.

Best Time to Buy at Only Oak Furniture

Furniture discounts over Black Friday and in the January sales, when homes are reorganised, with garden dining sets clearing in autumn. Because solid oak lasts, buying the right piece in a sale beats replacing a cheaper one twice. Browse more home and furniture discount codes and bed and bath offers for November 2026.

Caring for Solid Oak

Oak needs very little, but the little it needs matters. Wipe spills promptly rather than letting them sit — water rings on an oiled surface come out with re-oiling, while marks left for days can go into the grain. Use coasters and mats under hot dishes, since heat marks are harder to remove than water ones.

An oiled finish can be refreshed at home once or twice a year with a suitable furniture oil, which is what keeps a table looking maintained rather than tired. That option simply does not exist with veneered board, and it is a large part of why solid timber justifies its price over a decade.

Measuring for Dining Tables

Allow roughly 60cm of table width per person and at least 75cm of clearance behind each chair so people can get out without moving the table. A table that seats eight on paper is uncomfortable in a room that cannot take the chairs pulled back.

Measure the room, subtract the chair clearance on each side, and buy to what is left rather than to the largest table that technically fits.
